Abstract

The paper attempts to describe who Chilean secondary students are, from the point of view of accumulated knowledge on this matter, but primarily from the standpoint of Sociology. To this end, it reviews studies, research, surveys and national statistics so as to characterize students who attend university selection tests on a mass scale hoping to continue their higher education studies.
