As of 1993, the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile has been offering an Academic Baccalaureate Program. Its main objective is to make available to students who graduate from high school an alternative route for entering the University. Its main goal is to allow students to make an informed and safe vocational choice after experiencing university life and becoming familiar with the different disciplines taught in a university.
This paper describes the main features of this program and analyzes some noteworthy aspects of the results obtained to date.
