This article reviews the discussion that arose in Chile with regard to public
management, or public direction. It provides the background information on the Statute of Public Management designed by the Project for the Reform and
Modernization of the State and describes the model defined for training publicofficials. The paper discusses the start-up of this model and offers some preliminary conclusions on the operation of the model.
