Higher Education: Institutionalism for New Challenges.

Abstract

As starting point, this paper takes the idea that the Chilean higher education system - as a result of reforms by the beginning of eighties - shows important institutional shortcomings to face today challenges. After analyzing those shortcomings, it discusses and submits factors to consider in defining a new institutionalism providing suitable incentives for the higher education system to work accordingly to challenges of this new century.
