This story addresses performance commitments, incentives and evaluation of the academic work from Chilean universities experience. Due to the strategic planning processes developed in recent years, these instruments and procedures become increasingly significant to institutional management. However, their implementation is just beginning as well as the empirical evidence on their outcomes. For that reason, the article addresses this topic mainly from a conceptual point of view, but in some cases, it submits models and formulas from some universities. The more relevant findings are those related to implementation of these instruments and procedures, which can only be achieved if they are done in a regular way, with low arithmetical complexity and consensus between management teams and the academia.Downloads
