Abstract

The different government structures adopted by the institutions belonging to the Chilean higher education system are briefly discussed. The approaches utilized for appointment of university officials, as well as the participation channels used by faculty members and other stakeholders are analyzed, together with their advantages and difficulties. The cases of Pontifical Catholic University of Chile and DuocUC Foundation are described.
