This paper summarizes the experience of the Universidad Alberto Hurtado in the process that enabled it to obtain independent status in the minimum time established by law. It shows a highly positive overview and acknowledges the professionalism, willingness and seriousness of the agreements of the Higher Education Council. At the same time, it points out the quality of the designated peer reviewers, underscores the efforts made by the University to operate in a totally transparent manner andsuggests that some procedures should be simplified and shortened.Downloads
