This paper describes how the number of study programs offered in different subject areas has evolved, as has enrolment in the first year of these education programs during the period 1997- 2001. Over and above the natural increases and decreases that may be observed, the paper tries to show the different dynamic trends developed in the various thematic areas by making comparisons between different influential variables such as supervision systems, the region where certain education programs are offered, and the type of educational establishment offering the programs.
