The massive inflow of students to higher education and the need for universities to keep watch over the quality of training in a highly diverse system in terms of the establishments, the students and the academic contents, are particularly important with regard to teaching, especially the type of teaching that is linked to the teaching and learning of professional skills. For this same reason, higher education institutions must not only be concerned with achieving excellence through the academic degrees obtained by the academicians in their respective fields, but -above all- they must pay attention to the pedagogical training and skills upgrading of their teaching staff. The reason is that the new teaching methods require as much or even more training and laboriousness than those deemed sufficient up to now in the traditional teaching system.Downloads
